Buddy Blevins will be working with our Shop Steward, Alex Todt teaching the process of building an Open Back Banjo!
The cost of the class is $2800 and includes ALL materials! We limit the class to 4 students…We have NOT set a date for the class, when we get an interest of 4-6 students we will work out dates that fit everyone’s schedule (this is far easier than setting a date no body can make!)
Contact us via email if you would like to be added to the class list. We will ask for a $500 deposit for the class so we may order materials prior to the class.
For more information about the class itself, please contact our Shop Steward, Alex Todt
via email, as Alex is coordinating the class for Buddy AND he can answer your questions! You can also fill our the form below and let us know you are interested and would like to be put on the list!
Buddy Blevins – Buddy lives just down the road at Seven Mile Ford. He is a maker of musical instruments: mandolins, fiddles, banjos and guitars. He also does repair work. Buddy is a very out-going friendly fellow and is someone you would like to know better. He is an excellent teacher, patient, funny, and extremely talented. He is the proprietor of Deer Valley Musical Instruments; and like many of our local talented Luthiers: his shop is at his home. Both Del and Ronnie McCoury have played his instruments at the Paramount Theater. Mike Goodman owns one of Buddy’s banjos. Jimmy Fortune plays one of Buddy’s mandolins.
Buddy builds to order, and he usually has some instruments to sell as well. We are fortunate to have Buddy be part of our Luthier program!
