MarionVirginiaThe Town of Marion, once known as the Royal Oak community, was officially named after Revolutionary War hero Francis Marion.

The community’s Main Street was the main road passing through the region toward the southwest and has been known by many names, including the Wilderness Road, the Great Road, the Southwestern Turnpike, and Lee Highway.

Downtown’s alive with arts, music, drama, shopping and dining. Anchor renovations include the 1929 Lincoln Theatre and the 1927 General Francis Marion Hotel.

Add unique antiques, art galleries, restaurants and shopping, Bed and Breakfast options and you are ready for a cultural adventure.
