An example of some “in progress” watercolors from Saturday’s class.

The Henderson offers an open watercolor class every Saturday from 10am – 1pm. Catherine Schrenker has taught this class since The Henderson opened its doors in 2015. All skill levels are welcome and class is for adults only.

This is an ongoing class and it is recommended that participants join the class with the intention of regular attendance, not as a “one time lesson” as it is a class that builds on techniques learned from previous classes.

No RSVP is required, cost of the class is $10/class and includes supplies. There are also limited supplies for purchase, such as paper, brushes, and watercolor paints.

Catherine has taught watercolor for over thirty years and has designed the class for students to learn all the basic techniques with assignments that address these techniques individually. Once a student feels confident, they are encouraged to tackle their own subject matter.

This is not a drawing class, Catherine introduces students to an image transfer technique, teaching you how to turn your photograph into a “line drawing” for easy interpretation.
