The New Traditions Quilt Guild meets here at The Henderson on the 4th Thursday of every month. Check our calendar to find out the scheduled program for each month.
The September meeting will be changed from the scheduled meeting date of Thursday, September 28 to Tuesday, September 26 at 6:30 pm at The Henderson. Please mark your calendars so you won’t miss it.
Our program that evening will be Sewing Machine Maintenance to help us start our fall sewing with a machine that is ready to sew! Karen Chamberlain will be our speaker and she will share and to watch her actually demonstrate on a sewing machine.
The next date to put on your calendar is Friday, October 13 at 10:00 am at The Henderson. Patsi Deans, a founding member of NTQG and now a resident of Richmond, will be conducting an all-day workshop, Mile a Minute. (See example below). Rotary cutters and mats, shears, ironing stations, a few sewing machines, and lots of scraps are available in the quilt room, but you are welcome to bring your own. The scraps can be in different colors, themes, sizes, etc. Sashing and borders can be purchased later to complete your quilt.
IMPORTANT: YOU MUST REGISTER AND PAY $25.00 TO RESERVE YOUR SPOT. You can contact me Linda Kelly or Karen Chamberlain to register and pay the fee or with any questions you might have . This workshop is limited to a total of 10 participants so make your plans quickly to ensure you are able to participate. You can also select where you would like to work during the workshop. To do this, you need come by The Henderson to talk with Karen. She is there almost every Tuesday and often is there on other days. If you are unable to come by, contact her to discuss it. This should be a lot of fun for everyone who comes—We will have our version of a little quilting bee!
THERE WILL NOT BE A MEETING ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2023. The workshop will substitute for the October meeting but we will not conduct business at the workshop except to make a few announcements.
Also! Join Karen Chamberlain for Open Sewing in The Henderson Quilt Room every Tuesday starting back after Labor Day, from 10am- 2pm. Bring a project, including knitting, crochet, needlework as well as sewing projects. The Henderson has several sewing machines for use, or you can bring your own. We also have a wonderful store room of donated fabric.
