About Lorenz

Lorenz was born and bred in Elmont, NY. Bought his first camera (35mm) at a PX in Fort Drum, NY in about 1971. He attended photography school at Germain School of Photography (NYC) in 1974 and 1975. Lorenz then became the east coast photographer and writer for a California based car magazine and became a member of the International Motor Press Association for 20 years. Concurrently, he photographed weddings for a studio in Forest Hills, NY.

In the early 90’s Lorenz entered several photography competitions, winning several including the prestigious Atlanta Journal-Constitution annual photography competition and the Georgia national fair competition: Placing first in both.

Imagination
This image portrays a boy playing with the condensation on a window, giving in to his imagination and enjoying the moment in a beautiful, golden, morning light. Photo was shot with Kodacolor film and a Nikon 8008 camera.

In 2013 Lorenz established an annual photography competition at the Swain Arts Center in Bryson City, NC. and occasionally submits photos to local newspapers. In June of this year (2023) my wife (Dianne) and I were the featured artists at the Appalachian Spirit Gallery, Marion, Virginia.

Lorenz Klug’s photos can be viewed at Fine Art America/ Lorenz Klug.
